How Do You Save Money on a New Home?
Comment: I think there's some confusion in the buyer's/seller's agent. Realtors are both buyer's and seller's agents, the important part is when you are ready to make an offer that you have a buyer representing you, thus the buyer's agent. In other words, don't use the seller's agent to try to negotiate the deal. You should each have your own agent, but there really isn't a difference in them when you're shopping for realtors. Some prefer to work just as seller's or just as buyer's, but any realtor is capable of both.

It's also not true that they work for free. They basically do until you finalize the deal and then they get a percentage, same as a seller's agent. You can negotiate this. Also, you don't have to sign a lengthy contract and you can cancel the contract with your agent at any time if you feel like it's not working. Most people don't know that, but if your questionable about the realtor you can always sign a 60 day contract and renew it later if you want. That gives you an opportunity to try them out and see if they are finding you what you need.

I used to be a realtor and learned there's a lot of misconceptions.
