"10 Jobs Where Employers Come Looking For You" (Yahoo)

Submitted by: Tip Hero  02/24/2009 11:41 PM

A recent article on Yahoo HotJobs puts a positive spin on the whole job search process (no surprise that a job listing service like HotJobs, now owned by Yahoo, would be putting a positive spin on the jobs market right now, but we'll take it as positive outlooks seem to be few and far between these days).

They say that in just a few years, jobs will outstrip demand. "So, instead of preparing for a career where the job search process is long and grueling, why not find a career where prospective employers practically come knocking on the door?"

Sounds good to us. So what do they offer up? A short summary of the list is below, but click through to the article to read more about each career, including average salary.

1. Accountants - "Accountants will be needed to assist clients with their record keeping and tax needs."

2. Computer Software Engineer - "Software plays an increasing role in our lives."

3. Dental Hygienist - "As the need for dental care increases, dentists continue to rely heavily on their hygienists."

4. Elementary Teacher - "With many teachers nearing retirement, the need continues to grow for new elementary teachers."

5. Environmental Science and Protection Technician - "As more companies, businesses, and governments need to go green, the number of people who can monitor pollutants and wastes will increase dramatically."

6. Nurse - "The need for nurses is expected to grow considerably as the population continues to age."

7. Personal Finance Advisor - "...rapidly growing and increasingly complex profession...."

8. Physical Therapist Assistant - "The baby boomers may be aging but they still love to play."

9. Skin Care Specialist - "The need for skin care specialists or estheticians is on the rise."

10. Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor - "Assist clients with their recovery from addiction."

11. Veterinary Technologist and Technician - "...quickly growing profession..."
