Free & Low Cost Spay-Neuter Clinics

Submitted by: anonymous  03/05/2009 11:05 PM

There are too many homeless pets in the world, especially now due to the economy. Many of them are put to sleep due to lack of good, permanent homes. I ran across a web site link that lists FREE & low cost spay-neuter clinics within a 100-mile radius of your zip code.

Go to: ASPCA.org

Besides preventing litters of unwanted pets, here are other benefits of fixing your pets: ASPCA-Spay & Neuter Top Ten

Thank you for fixing your pets & PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!

those clinics are only free to those on low to no income. but for most of us that work but have other bills to pay they only look at the fact that you get a paycheck and still want to charge you alot of money. i called and they wanted to charge me $50-90 to spay my dog. plus if they are in heat or had a heat they charge more. with their schedule booked for like 2-3 months out then most of us with puppies will have to pay that "in heat" fee unless they puppies is a newborn pup. either way i would be stuck.

Try friendsofanimals.org; thru their website you can purchase much lower-cost spay/neuter certificates and find the veterinarians who honor them in your area. But please, please spay or neuter your pet; there are so many homeless pets.

In Chicago, The Anti-Cruelty Society fixes cats for $10 and $25 for dogs but they must be up-to-date on shots or shots will be provided at time of surgery for a nominal fee. These low prices are offered to all income classes. PLEASE do not give up on the free/low cost clinics listed on the ASPCA web site, they are doing everything possible to keep costs down for everyone in order to spay/neuter as many pets possible. These clinics are still much cheaper than if you took your pet to a regular vet. Thank you for fixing your pets!

We have a mobile spay/neuter clinic that comes to our community monthly. It is sponsored by the Humane Society. My son had his puppy spayed for a cost of $54.00. (The cost is based on the pet's weight). I had called around to several veterinarian's offices and the quoted charges ranged from $135.00 plus meds to $275.00 plus meds. Quite a diverse price range for the same procedure. This mobile unit does not check income; it is for anyone to use.
