I heard it from one of their checkers, that as of wednesday, Albertson's will no longer accept other store's coupons. I am in Kitsap county WA there, so I don't know if this is chain-wide, but a bummer nonetheless. I will continue to shop at my local because they have the lowest prices, but will now have to burn the extra gas for the truly great deals...
Editor's Note: Since joining the SuperValu family in 2006, Albertson's stores have adopted SuperValu's coupon use policies, and in regards to competitor's coupons, as of 2/09, SuperValu's policy was: Competitor coupons may be honored on merchandise purchased at your store at the face value of the coupon within the valid dates of the coupon. Competitor coupons may not be doubled or tripled and may not be Competitor Coupons used with an Supervalu store coupon. Customers may choose price as long as the value of the product is not exceeded. It is Supervalu' policy for cashiers to abide by the competitor coupon of competitor coupons per transaction applies to value limits and number of competitor coupons per transaction. If the coupon looks like it has been copied from a copy machine do not accept. One manufacturer coupon and one store coupon can be used on the same qualifying item.
Previously, the individual store manager could decide whether their store would accept competitor's coupons, but we have heard rumors that beginning March 18, Albertson's will no longer accept competitor's coupons. |
