High Quality Nail Polish for $1

Submitted by: designermavin  03/26/2009 10:31 AM

I am a complete convert. I now buy all of my nail polish (and most of my makeup) from e.l.f., a great discount online retailer. Their nail polishes are all $1! And right now they are holding their spring sale, buy one item at full price and get the second for half price, just enter code EGSPRAP. But you do have to pay for shipping, Standard Shipping is $6.95, so although you are getting 2 bottles of nail polish for $1.50, add shipping and the cost per bottle works out to about $4.25, which is still pretty good for a high quality nail polish. And it's good for your nails with nourishing vitamin E and no Toluene, Formaldehyde, or Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), so it doesn't have that nasty chemical smell and is better for the environment.

I usually place one big order for brushes, polish and makeup to make the shipping costs worth it.

How is the quality of their other makeup?

I love their brushes! Incredibly high quality and so cheap compared to even CVS. I won't buy brushes any where else.

Thanks for the tip! I checked out the site and already placed an order. I can't wait to check it out when it arrives!

I checked out the ELF website. I saw that you could search for retail shops, so I entered my zip and Big Lots popped up. So I guess you can buy it there and not have to pay shipping? I'll have to check it out sometime.

I like ELF. You can find it in some stores, or online at places like drugstore.com. I like the nail polish and the makeup brushes and things and their makeup is good for someone like me who doesn't use it regularly and doesn't want to spend a ton of money on makeup.

If you have any beauty supply stores in your area try them for inexpensive cosmetics. In the area of Dallas, TX where I live there are many independant beauty supply stores to choose from.

I can get really good nail polish for .89 cents. I get lipsticks .99 cents. Mascara, liquid eyelinter at $1.99. They also have hair and nail accessories. You can try out different colors inexpensively. I haven't tried the foundation ( I don't usually wear it).

I am a HUGE cosmetics junkie, and I love elf! I now buy the bulk of my makeup at discount stores such as Dollar Tree and Big Lots, both of which have elf in stock at least occasionally.

My only complaint with this line is that their blushes (both powder and cream) and bronzers are all shimmery. Since I'm now in my late 30s (with pretty good skin, thankfull, but still not up to sparkles), this just won't work! However, I can still wear the eyeshadow, which itself does have some shimmer. I do like elf eyeshadow, lip products, and pencils, but stick to non-shimmery Maybelline, Almay, Revlon, and Cover Girl products at my discount stores.
