Homemade Cradle Cap Treatment

Submitted by: katydid  03/26/2009 10:42 PM

My daughter had bad cradle cap...some websites suggested special shampoos (not inexpensive, I might add...). Instead, I wet a washcloth with olive oil and rubbed it into her head. I let it sit for a few minutes, then combed her scalp. Repeated, then washed her hair. It was great! Two treatments later and the cradle cap was gone. Cheap and all natural...can't beat that!

Baby oil works just fine for this.

I used baby oil on my kids head for cradle cap. It worked great and smelled good too. My kids had very thick hair so they would get cradle cap when I didn't get all the shampoo out-it could be very frustrating, baby oil worked like a charm.

baby oil is just mineral oil, you can save a lot of money if you just go to wal mart or any store and buy mineral oil which you use as a laxitive too. my dr recommended that to me.

I've used mineral for hair treatment, removing eye makeup if you read the lables on the cosmetic bottles the base ingredient is mineral oil

I use a soft bristled tooth brush and baby oil to clear it up. but with every bath i use the brush over her hair(she has tons and is only 3 1/2 months) to prevent cradle cap.
