Get 2 Bottles of Dishsoap from 1

Submitted by: anonymous  03/29/2009 6:09 PM

I always buy the big bottles of AJAX dishsoap, I pour half into my old bottle and dilute with water. It is already so thick diluting it has no effect on it's dish washing ability so in turn I get two big bottles for the price of one. I have found that AJAX works best if your going to add water most of the other brands are already way too diluted to start with.

Try it and see for yourself!

great tip. I always buy Dawn regular dish soap then reuse an old Dawn Direct Foam bottle I put 1/2 water and 1/2 dish soap and voila! one regular bottle of Dawn on sale is about $1.00 compared to $2.99 per Direct Foam variety total savings $4.00 per 2 bottles for a premium wash and the same foaming action. You could probably use any dish soap in a "foaming dispenser" as long as you cut it 1/2 with water.

I like the feel of foam soap for handwashing. Since I already use antibacterial dishwashing detergent, I dilute some of it in the foam ( aerating) original container. I get the foaming hand cleaner for a fraction of the cost.

Or you could simply put use very little when washing dishes.... Say, a drop or two? Depending on amount of dishes. Works for me.

I do the same thing with the Dawn Direct Foam dispenser, but I only use 1 inch of dishwashing detergent & fill the rest with water. The Foam refill is too expensive, and my version works just as well. Every time I refill the bottle, I rinse out the pump.
