Take a few minutes to go on-line and get driving directions to the places where you go often (work, school, grocery store, post office, church, etc.). Most on-line programs (like www.mapquest.com) have options to show you the fastest route and the route with the shortest distance. You might find that your usual route is less efficient and therefore costs you a little extra gas & time. If you make modifications, the savings can really add up in the long run.
Of course, the on-line programs don't account for construction or other traffic hang-ups, so you'll need to supplement the information you get with your personal knowledge of the area. |
