2 for 1 Haircoloring

Submitted by: anonymous  04/02/2009 4:20 PM

I have short thick graying hair that grows very fast so I have to color every 4 to 6 weeks. To save on haircolor I only use half each time. Just save the applicator bottle and use your own disposable gloves. It's plenty of color to do my roots and then blend through to the ends. The haircolor I use is about $8.00 a box so I get 2 colorings for $4.00 each.

This is a wonderful tip! We have been doing this for some time and have saved a ton of money! The brand we use oftentimes has a coupon inside the box (sometimes actually printed on the box itself, so always check the box), or we can find coupons in the Sunday newspaper ads. We only mix half of the ingredients, and store the unmixed remainder in a cool dry place.

Also, gentlemen, haircolor product for ladies comes in many more color options and frequently is less expensive than the for-men-only products. They are easy to use, as well. They can be used on mustaches and beards also.

Over the years I have saved thousands of dollars by using henna to color my hair. I mix it with a lemon juice and what ever else is available. I purchase it in the Indian grocery. Spend $2 on henna every six months or so. I often get stopped by both men and women who love my hair color and are surprised when I tell them what it is. My hair is in excellent condition!
