| When I lived in DC we suffered through a summer drought--not wanting my plants to suffer, I would leave a bucket in the shower, so when I heated up the water for my shower instead of letting good clean water run down the drain, I would fill up the bucket (sometimes 2 buckets) and use the water collected to water my garden. I had the best looking garden on the street and saved money on water at the same time. I have also heard about a kit you can get to link up your sink water to your toilet so you are flushing with run-off water from the sink. Brilliant--I need to look into this. |
