Eliminate soft drinks and fruit punches made with sugar etc. and save. These products are not nutritious and can be quite costly over the long haul.

Absolutely agree!
Upon the advice of our doctor, we have mostly eliminated carbonated beverages of all kinds (even calorie-free) from our lives and don't miss them. I say mostly, because we really want a little cola with a pizza now and again. We will buy one small bottle or can just for the meal and split it between us. Our physician told us that all carbonated beverages (diet or not) help to leach the calcium from ones bones. To us, forgoing carbonated drinks is a small price to pay for helping our bones. Plain iced tea made at home from flavored teabags is a refreshing and inexpensive drink alternative all year long.

I make my own "Italian Sodas". I put 1-2 TBSP (depending on the size of my glass) frozen juice concentrate in a glass and fill with chilled club soda. Very refreshing and inexpensive! It's fun to try different flavors of juice and mix them as well.
