Auto Tire Savings

Buy new tires for your auto on-line at a site like discount tire direct, which ships for free. Then have wal-mart install the tires. This will typically save you at least $50 if not much more.

got my tires online at tirerack.com for 1/3 the price of retail. had the tires shipped direct to the garage that was doing the install so didn't have to deal with driving them over there.

Having your tires mounted at Wal-Mart could cost you more in the long run. Those idiots managed to scratch ALL FOUR of my wheels and failed to take responsibility for it. Support your local tire shop, who will mount tires you bring in, and probably do so with more care than the minimum-wage, couldn't-care-less fools in WalMart's employ.

I've used online tirerack.com before. It's fine if you're getting good tires but if you happen to get a bad one. You find out after it's installed you'll loose out on the savings and gain a lot of hassle. Now I just got to Costco, they have a fantastic package deal with fantastic service.
