I've heard this can be harsh on clothing. Have you experienced this?

I started using this laundry soap a few months ago. It is great, even for really muddy or dirty clothes.
I also took their advise and I use white vinegar as my fabric softner. It does not leave a vinegar smell on the clothes and makes the towels really soft. Super cheap too compared to a bottle of fabric softner.

Washing soda is Sodim Carbonate or Soda Ash. Soda ash is found in pool supply at Home Depot or Lowes. Baking soda is Bicarbonate of Soda. Very different things. Borax is hidrated Sodium Borate. Both come from the soil and are great cleansing aids, they are very strong and you can do damage with too much.
The last time I made laundry soap I used Fel-Naptha and added a bar of Zote, the soap was so thick I had to add more water. It's great, I clean everything with it, even the bathroom. The tub really shines!
Would be glad to answer questions, Gale Osborn

Marie,
Zote is a large, pink, and cheap soap. I use it when I make laundry soap and it is really good. It has a heaver 'soap' smell then most soaps but cleans great. It is less then $1.00 at my local grocery store and is about 2x the size of normal soap bars. I am pretty sure I pick it up around the other bar soaps but it may be that I find it by the laundry soap.
