| Re-use Paper Bags to Drain Grease |

We save on paper towels by re-using clean (non-wax coated) paper bags to drain greasy items like bacon, sausage, whatever, after the fry pan or during microwaving. If the bag is a little too big, we just cut it to fit the thickness and amount of area needed for the job. If there is a printed logo on the bag (like some takeout food), we keep that part away from the food . We toss the greasy bag afterward, but it will decompose in the landfill.
We also save clean deli paper to use for cooling cookies and other baked goods on, etc.
There must be a bazillion ways to re-use all kinds and sizes of paper bags that somehow come into our lives. However, if we have too many bags, or the bag is beyond use for another reason, we include it with other paper items for recycling. |
