Salvage Your Paperbacks with Hot-Glue

Submitted by: anonymous  05/17/2009 8:06 AM

Hot glue is the best thing I've found for repairing important paperbacks when the book separates from the spine and cover. The cover had completely separated from my car manual, and that annoyed me for a while, until I decided to try hot glue. It worked great. The glue appears to be similar to the pliable glue in many better-quality paperbacks.
I have also used this on paperbacks when a section of pages starts to fall out, just running a bead of glue down the gutter of the book, where the pages separated.
This glue repair on my car manual has held perfectly for years now. I am always reminded of the success of this repair when I refer to my manual for something... because I did a beautiful perfect job of gluing the cover on upside down.
