Instead of staying at a 5 star resort downgrade yourself to a 3 from the beginning of planning. Remember you're only in your hotel to sleep and shower.

The article, "Downgrade and Save on Hotel Costs" is good. This is one of the travel saving tips we use to reduce hotel costs and it works. I would also suggest traveler(s) make sure they know the hotel location. For example, you may not be saving money and time if you stay in a hotel that is distant from your sightseeing activities, restraunts, shops, etc. Thanks!
