Never use VistaPrint with Paypal checkout. I THOUGHT I was paying 3.99 for a box of 25 checks (for a moneymarket account I don't use very much). First they "added" some address DID NOT select on their checkout page. I caught the mistake right away, went to their site to get contact info, and first saw a disclaimer saying they can't change orders if you want them to keep their prices low! I called and learned that there's a "malfunction" on their site that adds things you haven't ordered, so they reversed the unwanted address label charge. At the time I ordered, I deposited $20 in my Paypal account, as I couldn't figure out how much S & H would be from VistaPrint's site. With the address label debacle, while VistaPrint reversed the charge for that, PAYPAL did not and never has. I had several communications with PayPal the only way you can contact them, by email, but the upshot is, I have never been credited for VistaPrint's "mistake" (I have to believe they know about the "malfunction" on their site but choose to do nothing about it), but I never have been successful in getting Paypal to adjust the charges. THUS I PAID $20 FOR A BOX OF 25 CHECKS, IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT! IT'S ONE FOR THE RIP-OFF HALL OF FAME, AND HAS SOURED ME ON PAYPAL, TOO. As far as I know, you have none of the consumer protections when you use PayPal that you would have with a credit card.

I've used Checksinthemail.com. Great selection of checks, but best of all great prices. They charge a whole lot less than your regular bank.

Checks? Expensive?
Really?
I think I pay nothing for my checks from the bank.

Thank you for the article, "Cheap Checks".
I agree they can be costly. However, your cost of $6.85 is a great price.

First, why use so many checks? I use my credit car for everything. I have a checking account for direct deposit and the checking account automatically pays my credit card each month.
When I have more in checking than I need, I write a check to myself for a CD or my money market account. Anybody asking for a donation or selling magazines gets this answer, "Do you take credit cards." Go a head an steal my credit card. They call if there is suspicious activity even if it is me traveling and I have a track record of motels and buying gas. I have to alert them so I don't have to call them at some future purchase. Most if not all credit cards give you 100% coverage for on line sales.
Forget debit cards because you have little protection. If need be, get a pre-paid credit card and not a debit card. Big difference.

I also use only credit cards and have set up electronic payments for all utilities. I write maybe 1 check 4 times per year to Metlife ins because they don't accept credit card payments. This cuts down on stamps also.
