Stretch Leather Shoes

Submitted by: anonymous  06/07/2009 12:55 AM

Need to stretch a shoe? A shoe tree is best, but you can stuff a shoe with what ever is handy. But the real secret is to use a rag and saturate the area with rubbing alcohol. Or, wet the leather shoe with alcohol and wear it as you watch TV.

All shoes are hand made, even the plastic ones (except for Crocs and the knock offs). The real cost is in the material, brand name, labor (140 hands touch every boot made), and what they think they can get for them.

American Boot Company had such high standards that even and extra back sitch made the boot a second. Instead of $150 a pair, they sold for $15.

They are gone now due to out sourcing.

Don't forget you can take your shoes to a shoe repair place to make them last longer. Not sure if the shoe repair place can do much for those cheap Made In China items of footwear, but if you have shoes made in the USA, hang on to them! I've doubled or tripled the life of my shoes thanks to the shoe repair places. They can also fix purses, leather belts and some luggage.
