Finding Hotel Deals & Upgrades

Submitted by: Lynn  06/07/2009 11:05 PM

The BIG savings come from surfing the internet!

Enter whatever type hotel you want or are willing to pay for,for instance Google "3 star hotels>San Francisco".
SO MANY hotels, B&B's, motels and resorts come up it can actually be overwhelming pending the location.

Check about every 5th hotel listed for prices of the rooms. Call up the one you really find you want, tell them straight out "I found such and such hotel advertising this price for the same RATING, will you match it?"

We have found that star ratings are crucial to what places can even charge for their rooms. Some may appear with $ symbol ratings. Same difference.
I have saved hundreds on rooms this way verses trying to book through actual travel sites and hotel homepages.

On the day of arrival, ask if they are full up, if not, they 7 out of 10 times will upgrade you for just a few dollars. I mean a few. I have stayed in suites for the same price if not just $10.00 more per night.

If the room is not adequate that you have checked into or doesn't live up to their description on website, go ahead and demand a free upgrade. Let them know, in this age of computers your satisfaction on the web WILL be posted and you have every right to do so.

It is amazing how fast the web can destroy them in false or misleading advertising.

Just never forget to leave good feedback about a place that was well worth it and enjoyable.
