Kids Art Work as Wrapping Paper

Submitted by: anonymous  06/11/2009 10:00 PM

I stole this idea from a friend but think it's great for people who have young children. My son loves to paint on easel-sized paper. It's usually not an actual picture yet since he's only 3, but it becomes a swirl of colors that usually covers the entire page. Instead of throwing it out, we use it to wrap gifts. We then wrap the gift in some ribbon and you have a nice all purpose paper wrap. Not only is it a green tip because you're reusing your child's artwork, it also saves money.

When my grandaughter, Raven, first learned to draw something it was a dog. I had her to paint a dog on some broadcloth. I ran an iron over it to seal the paint and when Christmas came she got a pillowcase with her own art on it and signed by her. She loved it and imediatley said it would be saved forever. I bought the broadcloth on as sale table for 99 cents a yard and all the family got pillow cases for Christmas.with their names on them. Nice gift for $2.00 I either make all gifts or it's a flea market or yard sale deal.
