Coffee Filter Tips

Submitted by: Connie Baum  06/18/2009 1:15 PM

I found the cost to purchase coffee filters for a tall coffeemaker basket offensively high, so here's how I solved that problem:

My local market sells its house brand paper coffee filters for $.89 per 100.

I put in ONE filter, add the coffee, then place ANOTHER filter atop the coffee. The water runs through everything very nicely and there is no coffee grounds mess!

By doing this, I save over a dollar!

Coffee filters also make good "popcorn bowls" on movie night. No dishwashing there!

I plan to try this tomorrow. I bought a Bunn and it needs tall filters. Meanwhile I have a stack of short filters. Thanks!

I must be missing something. How is using two filters more economical than using one?
