Safe Way to Clean Diamonds

Submitted by: christy_johnson  07/05/2009 1:58 PM

My engagement ring needs constant cleaning but was scared to clean it myself, worried that I would ruin it. I found this easy solution from Lucky Magazine to gently and safely clean my ring:

Mix 1 drop of Method dish detergent (I get mine at Target) with a 1/4 cup of warm water. Gently scrub with a soft bristled toothbrush and then rinse jewelry with warm water.

works like a charm

I used to work for Kay's and found that if you clean your jewelry with toothpaste you will weaken your prongs costing you about $150 a prong to get fixed.
