Removing Lipstick Stains

Submitted by: frescacita  07/12/2009 3:24 PM

tricks to get rid of lip stick stains on clothes:

most important with all of this is to dab or blot, not rub, because rubbing will just spread the stain.

obvious option is to use a stain stick as soon as you get the stain and soak

cheap option #1, blot the stain with white bread, it will soak up most of the stain and the rest you should be able to get out in the washer

cheap option #2, dab with rubbing alcohol, this is usually pretty good at getting the stain out.

since most lipstick is oil based using a grease cutter, like your dishwashing gel to soak, helps remove the stain.

I've heard that you can use hairspray to get stains out too.

I washed a load of white clothes with a dark pink lipstick, then dried them. The dryer melted the lipstick and the color was all over everything. The whole load ruined. I honestly thought I'd have to throw all the clothes away. I put them on my laundry room floor in a pile unable to face doing it... a few days passed and my friend showed up and I told her to look at them. She said: the answer is in the trunk of my car. She got out a bottle of a cheap cleaner she gets from the grocery store let's call it Oiled Thunder ;-) Can I mention the real name here? If you can't figure it out and it's allowed, I will. Anyway, I sprayed all the stains thoroughly and rewashed the clothes. They came out spotless the first try. I may have used warm water I can't remember...but I was totally amazed.
