Save on Birthday Cards

Submitted by: Lori  07/18/2009 1:35 PM

With two children, we get invited to many birthday parties. To help save on the gift, wrap/bag, and cards, I purchase blank business cards and print the birthday message and my kids names on them. Then attach it as your "card".

You can also use this as your gift by making some cards with the birthday childs name on them. I have gotten lots of compliments on these both as cards and gifts.

You can get 200 cards for $5-$10, a big savings over the $1 cards you can find in stores.

P.S. save the gift bags and tissue paper your receive and reuse, great money saver

I did this for my wedding name cards, picked out a green striped card that suited our theme and had the perfect spot for writing our guests name. I had "Table No." on the lower corner of the card, so all i had to do was write the names in calligraphy. All for less than $10 at vistaprint.com

The club that I am in recycles greeting cards, and what we do is make Valentines for people who are shut-ins, and get Meals on Wheels, so they get delivered with the meals.

We take the cards, and cut/punch out he design we like, and several of us put them together, on Red paper, and say something like Hope you have a wonderful day today and always, and sign it.

This can brighten and bring a smile to someone who may not have had smiled that day. The leftovers are mailed to people who live far away, or are in the hospital, or in a care facility.

Have a Great Day

I don't use birthday cards if I'm giving a gift. I just use a gift tag. I send a card to those I don't gift.
