Save on Heating with Passive Solar

My house has three big south facing windows. In the winter, I pull up the blinds and open the curtains.
Just let the sun shine in.

And it works. Many times it will be 45 degrees outside and I'll be nice and warm inside. With the furnace turned off.

We only have two such windows but do the same thing. We also planted trees to block the sun during the summer they lose there leaves and we still get the sun in the winter.
