When buying produce, make sure to feel items first, esp perishables like figs, berries and peaches, make sure they are on the firm side and let them ripen at home. Also, don’t wash your items until you are about ready to eat them, the moisture on the skin, tends to make them rot faster,
Here are some storage tips:
1.For longer lasting herbs, stick the roots in a glass of water and then sotre upright in the fridge
2.ou can store corn unshucked in the vegetable drawer, but best not to leave it in there too long or you will lose the sweetness.
3.Store melon in the crisper, and for some reason rinse it before cutting, does this make it sweeter?
4.Some say to store peaches plums and tomatoes at room temp. but I put mine in the fridge so they don’t’ go soft too fast,
