Quality Car Repairs for Less at Technical Schools

Submitted by: DAH  08/06/2009 3:58 PM

I recently was told by a repair man that I needed a new alternator and battery for my Ford and that it would cost me $450. I got a second opinion and estimate of $350. Then I took the car to an automotive technical school where a student and instructor checked the car. It only needed a new battery. It seems you can't check the altenator with a bad battery! It cost me $96 for the new battery.

Auto technical schools teach their students by doing work on client's cars. A highly qualified instructor teaches the student and checks the work. It is the best quality you can get and for a much lower price than commercial garages.
