Discount Memory Foam Mattress

Shopping for a mattress can be confusing and overwhelming. There are so many mattress options and so many stores to choose from, it’s hard to know where to begin. Finding the right mattress is very subjective and personal (what might be right for your friend or family member may not be right for you). It’s also an important purchase, as we all want to get a good night’s sleep.

Before my most recent purchase, I visited a number of stores and also did a lot of comparison shopping online. I was amazed at how expensive mattresses are these days. It’s not uncommon to pay over $1000 for a queen or king mattress. And I know several people who have paid more than $2000 per mattress. While I don’t want to cut corners on a mattress, as this is one area I think it’s okay to splurge, I also don’t want to get taken for a ride. What is really the big difference between a $1000 mattress and a $2000 mattress? Will the bed make itself? Will it do laundry?

During my search for a new mattress, I came across a new kind of mattress (at least it’s new to me) that is made, in part, out of memory foam. Memory foam conforms to your body while still providing good support. I have a bad back and was worried about the mattress being too soft, so I was skeptical. But my wife and I decided to go forward with it and give it a shot, as it was relatively inexpensive and also had pretty good reviews from people we know that owned one.

You can buy these mattresses at the large discount retailers, such as Costco and Sam’s Club. They retail from around $600 to $1000 (depending on the size and type you purchase). Just do a search for “memory foam mattress” at the Costco or Sam’s Club website and you should find it or ask a sales rep.

While it’s hard to do a straight price comparison between the foam mattresses and regular mattresses, as there are so many variations of each, just knowing that you can get a high-quality, very comfortable mattress for $1000 or less seems like a really good value to me.
