Inexpensive Makeup Available at Aldi's

Submitted by: bf110c4  08/14/2009 10:41 AM

My 14 year-old daughter is in the makeup stage. I recently bought 2 boxes of makeup foundation from Aldi's for $4 each for a 1 oz bottle. The makeup is sold under the Lacura name and is made in Germany. Told my daughter I got it at Costco - she says she likes it. Every now and then you win one. I love Aldi's.

The Lacura brand skincare is also inexpensive & works very well. All around $3.99 or less.

Aldi's is great on produce too... better than most of the 'other' grocery stores in Indiana and much cheaper.

The mascare is pretty good and cost $3.99. Now I don't feel guilty when I buy it for myself!

Another great place for makeup is eyeslipsface.com or elf for short. They have a lot of things for a $1 and the rest is not much more expensive. The makeup on this web site has been written up in magazines like Marie Claire, Women's Health, Good Housekeeping, Seventeen.

The makeup is top quality, and the colors are current.

You just can't beat a dollar.

My best source of cosmetics information is from Paula Begoun at www.cosmeticscop.com. Her site and book "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me" offer specific reviews on what really does work for skin. Her basic premise is that expensive doesn't equal effective; many drugstore brands offer products just as good (and sometimes better) than the high end ones. I would be lost without her!
