Save the Plumbers Bill on Slow Drains

Submitted by: anonymous  08/18/2009 9:44 PM

I have a slow draining tub that left me standing in water at the end of a shower. This happens about once a year. I found on-line to try Nair, Dawn detergent and boiling water. It helped somewhat but still a problem. Then I poured an entire package of Cascade down the drain and flushed it. Voila!

It clearned out the hair and soap clog and it works perfectly and has kept on doing so. The plumber charged me about $175 every time to clear this drain.

What size of cascade? I also have slow draining tubs. Drives me crazy! Could you also use any generic brand of dishwasher soap? This is such a cool tip! Love this website!

I tried the Cascade and it ended up making my drain run slower-almost stopped up. Do not use this! It formed a cement like plug! I'm going to try the baking soda and vinegar tonight.
