Who Needs Shopping w/ Freecycle.org & Craigslist?

Submitted by: anonymous  09/11/2009 6:31 AM

I have gotten high end name brand clothes where I live (which its not a high end section of PA) off of Freecycle, furniture lamps kids clothes home decor I even saw a hot tub in great condition and in working order free on craigslist b4 because the couple downsized there home. It keeps ppl's unwanted items out of landfills making the earth better for our kids kids kids....its free....and its a suprise everytime you go. Why give your money to goodwill when you can exchange the same items with your neighbors.

Going to the Goodwill AS IS store: also prevents things from the landfill: think of it as a garage sale: I have heard that what does not sell that day goes into the landfill: I have gotten brand new shoes $1 & $2.00 (including name brand high heels to beautiful for words!); & working boots (heavy duty ones) for $2.00 for friends;
Clothing sells for $1.39 a lb here; that makes thick thirsty towels (yes, be picky!) $1.50 each; lace curtains (beautiful!) 41 cents a panel; appliances many times brand new (and yes, you DO test!) $2 & $3.00!!!!!
Church sales are fantastic as well as yard sales; go shopping but do it frugally & wisely!
Friends of the Library sell books for 50 cents & $1.00; if you are a member, every 3rd one is FREE! also www.paperbackswap.com allows you to TRADE books only expense is mailing them when someone orders yours! also, we have 2 free "places to get books" for FREE now here in So Oregon as our "libraries" closed; and then reopened; this is to insure BOOKS can be READ!
