Green Apples juiced in a juicer, taken 3-4 times a day I heard was supposed to help get rid of gall stones. Well it softens them. Then a glass of virgin olive oil and lemon juice is supposed to flush them out.

use as a replacement for a third or up to a half of potatoes in stew or soups especially in the crock pot. It gives soups especially those containing grounded turkey or turkey sausage a very nice flavor. I found this out by accident when I needed more potatoes than I had for my ground turkey stew....It was very very good.

I also cut them in pieces and use them to stuff a chicken or turkey cavity to help the bird stay moist. Just toss the apples when the bird is cooked. I also dice them finely and use them to stretch stuffing or rice dishes.Hope this helps.

A spin off of the apple candle holder is to hollow the apple out as much as possible. Insert a votive or tea light. Nestle the apple in a shallow container of potpourri. The heat from the candle will waft the fragrance throughout the room. Also, you can make homemade applesauce or apple butter. Making apple head dolls is another oldie but goodie.
