How Do You Clean Silicone Bakeware?

Submitted by: (((*.*))) Sharon  10/16/2009 8:44 AM

This is not a tip...I need help on getting my silicone bakeware clean. I love the stuff, but it stains (from the Pam spray) and no matter what I do, I can't get the black stains off. Anyone have any ideas?

At first I tried putting mine in the dishwasher, b/c they are dishwasher safe, but it never seemed to get them fully clean. So now I wash by hand. first I let it soak in hot water (not soapy water b/c) then I gently wash with a soft sponge (not the abrasive one b/c you could scratch the surface). And rinse.

The heat stains you are baked into the surface, and you most likely won't be able to get rid of them unless you scrub so hard that you'll risk ruining the bakeware.
