Can Exercise Help You Avoid Colds This Winter?

Submitted by: anonymous  10/27/2009 10:29 AM

Just read this on Spark People.com, that recent studies suggest that, yes, exercise can help prevent colds:

"multiple studies have shown a 25% to 50% decrease in sick time for active people who complete at least 45 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise (such as walking) most days of the week."

I know that when I workout regularly I'm not only much stronger, my nervous system is more relaxed and I’m more resilient. When I take good care of my diet and workout, I can fight off colds. If I get lazy on either the diet or the workout, or both, that’s when trouble sets in!

Your article definitely rings true in my case. Thanks for the validation.
