Thanks Lisa for this tip. Can't wait to try it out. Great that I have all the
ingredients in my cupboard and don't have to spend the extra cash to buy the
cans for my holiday baking, as they are so expensive.

@ Paul, Splenda has a product called "Sugar Blend for Baking" which
my mom substitutes for sugar whenever a recipe calls for it. It's basically a
half sugar half Splenda mix. This is for baking recipes. I'm guessing you
probably wouldn't run into any problems using Splenda as a sugar substitute in
this recipe. Let us know how it turns out if you try using Splenda.

I'd be cautious about using Splenda (sucralose) and similar sweeteners:
Sucralose (Splenda) is a Chlorocarbon.
It is in the same family of chemicals as DDT and PCBs.
Don't worry, it’s not DDT, it’s “DDT-Lite!”
Read more about that here: http://www.holisticmed.com/splenda/

I wouldn't eat splenda either but your reasons aren't substantial. There are no
families in chemistry. Don't think that one chemical is dangerous just because
it sounds like the name of another. Would you eat chlorine? Well how about
sodium chloride?

I would love to find a recipe for condensed milk without the sweetened
inclusion. Anyone have one?
TIA
