Submitted by: Jane the 'soup nut'  11/04/2009 4:28 PM

Gearing up for the 'soup' season and came across this list of 60 great soups from the Fine Living Network. Thought I'd share it with the Tip Hero crew:

Had one of my all time favorites, chicken and dumplings. Love making a big batch of soup and eating it all week so I don't have to worry about meals!

the best soups are made with what you've got left over. i just throw it all in the pot and usually turns out great.

Great soup suggestions, but I have a simple and quick chicken in dumplings recipe.
1 box chicken broth, 1 can chicken (Drained)1 can cream of chicken,
1 can veg all(drained)1 roll can of store brand rolls. Heat the broth, chicken, cream of chicken. Add drained can of veg all, and tear up the raw rolls from the can into bite size chunks. Put in pan and cook 10 minutes uncovered, and then 10 minutes covered. Delicious and way easy.

the "dumplins" you refer to is not a dumpling,it is a cut up roll.I've been making homemade dumplins for 56 years and they melt in your mouth, there's no baking powder in them and there's no vegetables in them.only shortening, flour, chicken,Broth ,salt and pepper.I owned a restaurant in N.Y city and served them every day.make a rolled out dumpling like a noodle and roll it 1/16 of an inch thin and put this into boiling chicken broth, let cook for 2 minutes.make layers in the pot but give them time to cook thru before adding more.you'll be amazed at how good they taste.keep enough broth going so the bottom doesn't stick.good luck.

granny cook! would you be kind enough to share
your recipe for these? For instance, what ratios you use for the dough? It would make my NYC husband so happy to have "dumplins" from "home"!

granny cook I would love it if you could give better measurements for ingredients. This does sound pretty good.
