I always store them inside out. Them when I take them out, I turn them right side out and using a pressing cloth, lightly steam them. This freshens the fabric and steams away any storage odor.

Put your sweaters in the dryer on air fluff and put a dryer sheet it there. It will get the musty couped up smell out, make it fresh smelling again and pull some of the wrinkles. Sometimes I put a damp washcloth in there as well to help with the harder wrinkles. jan

I am a fan of those de-piller gizmos... my last one cost about 50 cents at a yard sale. Or when watching TV sit down with a pair of sharp scissors and clip off the pills.

You can easily remove the pills from sweaters, etc. with a Sweater Comb, which you can purchase for a few dollars ($3-$4) at Drugstore.com. You won't have to send them to be drycleaned to remove pills! It's an excellent tool!

You can remove pills from sweaters by using a disposable shaver, just shave in a downward motion and this will remove the pills from the wool, it won't hurt the knitting, keep shaving until all the pills are gone.
