If you’re a frequent movie-goer and, in particular, if you tend to go to the same theater or same movie theater chain frequently, you should look into getting a movie club card. It’s kind of like those frequent flier programs that the airlines have, where you generate points every time you buy a movie ticket. The points can then be redeemed for food at the theater or even free tickets when you accumulate enough points. I’ve used one for my family, where we’ll buy all of our movie tickets using the same card, which goes a long way. I think that I read somewhere that the average American goes to 7 movies a year (seems high but the source was legitimate), so for a family of four, that’s 28 movies a year – and a lot of points!
AMC theaters has a club called Movie Watcher (moviewatcher.com) that let’s you accumulate points for each ticket you purchase. Check other major chains for similar clubs. |
