So many of the recipes call for ingredients that are expensive or I don't keep on hand. Here is a recipe that is cheap and kids love.

Gingered Pork and Ramen Noodles

2 (3-oz) pkg. chicken-flavor ramen noodle soup mix
1 lb. boneless pork shoulder roast cut into 1-inch pieces (I use pork stew meat, it's already cut up)
1 tsp. of grated gingerroot (Gingerroot keeps in the freezer forever)
3 cups water
1 cup halved fresh snow pea pods (about 4 oz.)
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1 T. soy sauce

Reserve noodles from soup mixes. In 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker, combine pork and contents of seasoning packets from noodle soup mixes; mix well. Add gingerroot and water, stir to mix.
Cover; cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours.
About 25 minutes before serving, break reserved noodles into pieces; add to pork mixture. Add pea pods and onions; mix well. Increase heat setting to high, cover and cook an additional 10 to 15 minutes or just until vegetables are crisp-tender. Sometimes I leave out pea pods if I don't have them. They don't keep very long.
In small bowl, blend soy sauce and cornstarch until smooth. Stir into pork mixture. Cover; cook about 5 minutes or until sauce is slightly thickened. Makes 4 (1 1/2 cup) servings.
2 tsp. cornstarch

The easiest and most tender roast I've ever ate, I found as a way to cook venison roast, but, it works as well with beef.

Put roast in crockpot, and add one envelope of dry Ranch dressing. Turn crockpot on low and cook 8-10 hours. Be careful when attempting to remove the roast: everytime I've made this recipe, the roast is so tender it literally falls apart on the fork.

One of my favorite recipes is:

1 8-9lb rump roast (I usually get several small ones, cook them together and then seal-a-meal and freeze a couple of them)

2 pkgs lipton dry onion soup mix

2 cans cream of mushroom soup

This makes a really nice gravy

I love crockpots, love them so much I have 5!!!! We are a family of 3 that have a ranch and produce farm and could not live without ours. Just about any recipe can be converted to use with a crockpot, just think of your crockpot as a mini oven. I use mine to re-heat leftovers or cook from scratch. It may take a bit a practice to convert your recipes but give it a try!!!
