I always try to tell my wife that it's a hallmark holiday, but she doesn't buy that line. |

If Zio's Italian Grill is in your area,(I am in TX) they are having a very good dinner special on Valentine's Day. It's dinner for 2 for $32! It includes wine for 2, an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert. So my husband and I are taking advantage of this! |

Invite three couples over for dinner, each couple brings a part of the meal (along with the drink for that course). Appetizer, Salad, Main Course, and Dessert. (Share the cost of a baby-sitter if you have little ones). With each Course, go around the table and share something you love and adore about your spouse with the rest of the group. Showering love and adoration for our spouse in front of others enriches not only your marriage (relationship), it inspires the lives of the other couples too! |

Every year I try to come up with a unique idea for gifts for my siblings. (We are all in our 40's. I think it's ridiculous to be shopping and spending for each other, so I make the best of it by trying to be creative!)
I saw those "eco cups" (the coffee cups that look like the paper cups at starbucs etc.) at Walgreens and was instantly inspired.
They each got a cup and a book that I picked out for each one on Amazon. (Cheaper if you do it on ebay! But I didn't have time). They LOVED them! (Who wouldn't love a good book and cup of coffee in the winter?)
If your valentine is a reader, this will be a big hit. Maybe add one stem of a nice flower to make it romantic! |

If you need a gift for Valentine's day, Avon has lots of great deals, but the best one for now is called the Swag Bag for just $25. You get to pick and choose what you want so you get to customize it for that someone special. Pick one perfume, one piece of jewelry and 2 makeup accessories and it all comes in a nice gift bag. You can find it at my Avon website: http://www.youravon.com/erizos
Enter the FREE shipping code: FSANY
Thanks. |

Go the really cheap route by writing a poem or song for a loved one. |

Find your sweethearts favorite meal and cook it for them at home-nothing better than a home cooked favorite. |

My husband usually finds "romance" a foreign word, however, he came up with an idea once! First, he left a note on my pillow, saying "I wish I could take you to an expensive hotel, or exotic location, but this will have to do for today. Meet me here, at ___ p.m." He chose a Hawaiian theme and bought food accordingly for under $20.00 It is not the candy or the flowers, it's the thought put into that particular gift that makes it special, and any expression of love is always appreciated! I bought some wonderful all natural massage oil ($10) and will give my husband a really good spa treatment. There are lots of books and cd's on massage (free at the library). Dim the lights, play calm music....the oil lasts for over 10 massages, so there will be a lot of relaxing going on for him.

I don't know where to put this. It is a link to Valentine's that were used in the 50s. They are quite interesting to look at as I can remember that this was what was available.
I distinctly remember the one with the Dunce, and feeling really bad about sending it on. So it was the one that was kept.
Anyway, lurk away! Enjoy. Cheap entertainment.

Buy a heart shaped balloon at the dollar store. Add a note that says "You make my Heart Soar!" |
