Check How Thick the Rubber Soles are When Buying Shoes

Submitted by: anonymous  07/04/2008 11:09 PM

I recently bought a pair of running shoes. I didn't carefully examine the sole of the shoes. The soles contained a rubber tread that went around the edges of the shoe but there where areas of the fore sole and heel that didn't contain rubber. These parts have worn out very quickly. I'm going to apply shoe goo to them to slow down the wear and tear.

I'm not sure if these shoes were specifically designed as court shoes. I thought they were advertised as ordinary walking/running shoes. I imagine with the price of oil going through the roof all manufacturers are looking for ways to reconfigure their products and cut back on components that are made from petro chemicals.

So when you're buying running or outdoor shoes don't make the same mistake I made and check to make sure the sole has a decent layer of rubber so it doesn't wear out so quickly.
