Do not buy dry-erase boards at an office supply store. There are several online retailers specialising in whiteboards and school supplies that charge up to 50% less than the major office retailers.
There are two types of whiteboards: magnetic and non magnetic. Non-magnetic whiteboards are made from melamine which you can purchase at HOme Depot or
Lowes for around $10. Magnetic whiteboards are made from porcelain steel. The major difference between the two types besides one is magnetic and you can attach magnets to the board is ghosting. Ghosting is the residue of previous markings that you can't completely get rid of. Porcelain steel has virtually no ghosting while it can be an issue with melamine board.
If you're looking to buy a magnetic whiteboard than search for online stores that specialize in selling whiteboards. You might also be able to save money by buying your porcelain steel whiteboard unframed. |
