Easy Tips for Saving on Dry Cleaning

Submitted by: Kira @ Tip Hero  10/26/2010 2:27 PM

Even if you don't have to go to the dry cleaners often, those bills can eventually add up. Here are some creative ways that David from Money Crashers saves a little cash on these visits:

  • Loyalty and Friendliness: get to know your dry cleaners, and stick with them. You can often times build a good rapport with "mom and pop" places and maybe benefit from discounts (as their way of keeping your business in the competitive market).

  • Utilize Their Full Services: sometimes, especially if you have a good rapport with dry cleaners, they will do additional services for you for free. Some of Money Crashers' personal examples were having buttons replaced, sewing up holes, hemming pants, and having zippers replaced.

  • Return Your Hangers: your dry cleaners should love you if you return extra hangers to them and you may reap benefits.
