DIY Coffee/Dining Room Table

Submitted by: Tip Hero  01/04/2011 11:11 AM

This clever trick from Noelle at IKEA Hacks seems like a project fit for Tip Hero DIYers who have limited living space. Using a single table top from IKEA, some curtain rods from a hardware store, and a sliding stand (like the mechanism that folds out the ironing board or an electric keyboard), Noelle was able to create this very versatile piece of furniture:

Whenever you have need for a dining room table, all you'd have to do is slide the table up to create eating space.

This hack can save you space in small living quarters by making the room feel more open, but it also negates the need to buy two separate tables!

I read a lot of shelter magazines for decorating tips, but this is the best one ever! It can be used in the living room, bedroom (at the foot of the bed for display, then raised for breakfast), in the den/library, etc.
