I tried these once and they did NOT work for me. My bananas seemed to get brown more quickly. Also, we put some strawberries in them and the next day, the berries were mushy.

I have been using he Debbie Meyer green bags for some time now. I find they do an excellent job most of the time. I had lettuce in one for almost a month and could still use it after peeling back a few leaves.

I used the green bags for my bananas the other day. However, the day after putting them in the bag, my son wanted one. When I took the banana out it smelled like plastic and my son wouldn't eat the banana :-(

The bags are a waste of money..my strawberries were rotten a day after I put them in..the same day that I picked them! My bananas also turned brown by the second day. I took them back to the store.

One of the best products every made. My fruit and vegetables stay crisp and last...... But remember to fold the bay over to seal and occasionally dry out moist with a paper towel.

I, too, use the Green Bags faithfully with satisfaction. Regarding strawberries, however, I have read much advice to store them without touching each other. One clever tip was to keep them in an well-rinsed and dried egg carton. This should extend their freshness.

I found a "generic" version of the Green Bags at a general-dollar store (hint: reverse the words) for only $5. They work just as well as the infomercial ones; I've kept celery for weeks, as well as cut veggies, & even cilantro wayyy past when it usually withers or rots.

To keep celery fresh longer, just wrap it in aluminum foil before putting it in the refridgerator...works every time.

I have used them with success but have NOT tried strawberries in them! If your bananas go brown, simply freeze them: the skins will turn black but no harm is done; then when you have time, simply thaw them & make banana bread! Actually with the cost of bananas so high here now I buy them ripe & marked down & freeze & make the banana bread for my grandkids who gobble them down! For strawberries, if you are not going to eat right away, I would freeze on a "cookie sheet" or in a pie plate NOT TOUCHING one another: then bag once frozen or put into container; this actually works fantastic with any fruits: cherries, etc:

Whenever I have a banana on the outs, I toss it in the freezer. The other day I noticed I had 6 bananas stocked up, so I made banana bread and banana nut muffins for new years day. It was delicious. I really thinking the overripe bananas make better breads. I just leave them out to thaw for a few hours.

I have these bags and I love them. A head of broccoli lasted for two weeks in the green bags. This item works quite well for me and I will always use them.
