How to Save Money on Freecycle.org

I have been successful on freecycle.org by asking for what I want or need versus begging the donor to select me regarding their unwanted items they just posted. Remember, you are not the only person asking for their donated goodies. For example, on the subject line (freecycle.org post rules) I would enter "WANT: WORKING DISHWASHER" then on the details I give them a brief explanation of my situation like "I don't have the cash to buy one right now and willing to pick-up at anytime. I am located at the Beach location."

I do this as well & not only on freecycle but another local recycling in my area as well! We also have an "eblessing" site where things are offered or asked for if needed. It is a delight & pleasure to be able to give things to others as well as to receive!

Please be aware that some freecycle groups frown on doing too much asking for stuff. They ask that you also be posting giveaways as well - preferably more than you are asking for stuff. The way around that is to be right on top of it when it's posted. Being willing to pick up and quickly is a big bonus.
