The Penny Saver

Submitted by: RandomLOGO  11/30/2008 12:25 AM

Whenever you see a penny or any change, pick it up and put it away somewhere. It all accumulates. And when you're ready to cash it, don't use the machines at the grocery store; go to the bank and ask for the paper change tubes. Then give them to the teller to weigh.

Or, don't bother rolling your loose change, take it to your credit union change counting machine where they do not charge a "fee" to have the machine count the money for you (like the grocery store machines do).

Plus, when you buy things, pay with dollars versus loose change. At the end of each week, put the change in an empty container, once a month, take that change to the credit union and deposit it and put it towards savings or to pay down a credit card.
