Clothing consignment shops are plentiful and great places to pick up bargains. You can also sell your gently worn clothing. In my small town there are four of these shops. I have a favorite where I take clothes I am tired of or that don't fit anymore. The owner gives me 50% of what they sell for (you don't collect until a sale is made). When I go in, she usually has a check for me which I turn around and give back to her for a garment I need. Items need to be in season, in fashion, and in good repair. Oh, many also carry men's clothing.
In addition, there are some very nice, clean, organized thrifts. The American Cancer Society runs a chain of them called Discovery Shops. Their prices are very low and they carry everything from clothes to knick-knacks. |
