Saving Money on Video Rentals and Children's Books

Submitted by: piamurray  12/16/2008 3:19 PM

Instead of spending costly monthly fees on netflix or redbox, go old school - your local library branch. With one free library card you can rent children's videos, movies, exercize vides, etc. In many cases you can keep the movies for 5-7 days.

Also, if you have a child the children's section is a great place to go for books instead of purchasing them at your local bookstore.

If you find a favorite DVD or book at your local library and must have it, purchase it used from Amazon.com or ebay.

Too bad my library has NO videos whatsoever. It seems like a lot of them do.

I bring my kids to the library all the time, my library has a very large childrens video section and we are allowed to take 4 videos per child (I have 3 kids so I make out well) they have the videos for 7 days and gets returned on time (in order to avoid a $2/day late fee for each movie) Cost: $0, priceless...
