| Zoo Memberships - Year Round Savings & Entertainment |

My next tip is about saving money on going to the zoo and attending their yearly events.
My Zoo here in denver would cost upwards of $24 for a family of four each time we went. But if we buy a zoo pass membership that also allows us to take a guest($100) we can go as much as we want plus we get discounts on activities,food,drinks and shopping.
We estimate once we go to the zoo four times every time after that it is free. plus their halloween activities on both days at boo at the zoo are free with membership. IT is a safe way(if not warmer) for the kids to trick or treat....for free,and they have jugglers,magicians and you still get to see all the animals. There is a slight charge for zoo lights during christmas times, they have a members only day so you can beat the crowds and see all the christmas lights,ride the train and the kids can ride the carousel... and several ice cream socials and picnics that are free or reduced cost for members only. Plus the very best part is a portion of that $100 is tax deductable, yep you heard me write, you get to take it off your taxes! now I do make sure for holiday events we arrive early to get a place to park and beat the rush. We also bring our own refillable water bottles and some sandwiches for when we get hungry,even thou there is food there and we do get a discount, I am a bit of a tight wad so pb&j are just fine. Now there are free days at the zoo. But they are typically very crowded and never on holidays or nice warm days that land on a weekend. with my membership we can go whenever we want,as much as we want..and even get to be invited to some members only socials and holiday events as well. Plus we know we are helping the animals that live there which is always a plus. And last but not least it is an extremly entertaining way to teach your kids about animals and their habitats,educational and fun...cant beat that!
